Meet the owner of Wearever Mobile Boutique, one of the merchants you’ll find at Wine, Women & Purses, October 1.
Who are you?
Kristan McNames, owner of Wearever Mobile Boutique. My big blue bus can travel to wherever you and your friends are for a mobile shopping experience.
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and now live in Loves Park with my family. We moved here 11 years ago, my husband grew up in the area and we relocated to be closer to our families.
Describe your business.
I bring my mobile boutique to a home, workplace, or other venue. I currently sell a line of clothing called LuLaRoe. The majority of the pieces are designed and fabricated in America. I have an extensive range of sizes and styles. It’s very uncommon to have duplicates of patterns on the dresses, skirts, tops and leggings, so it’s possible to own a one of a kind piece at an affordable price point.
What inspired you to open your business?
I’ve opened my first business, Grace Funeral & Cremation Services in June of 2009, and I’ve been looking for an additional outlet for my creativity for the past year or so. Everything came together in the last few months when I located the clothing line and the cute little bus I found online. Building this business is another challenge that I’m looking forward to.
What is your favorite thing about what you do?
This is an amazing line of clothing that really flatters all shapes, sizes and body types. It’s so much fun to see someone’s face light up when they find a look that they love.
When you’re not running your business, what are you doing in your “spare” time?
I have three boys, ages 19, 10, and 7 with my husband, Bob. We enjoy camping as a family. I will read pretty much anything I can get my hands on, and I’m on the board of the Angelic Organics Learning Center. I’m operating two amazing businesses, so I don’t really have a ton of spare time!
How many years have you participated in Wine, Women & Purses and what do you like best about this event?
This is my first year as a vendor, and I attended as a guest one year. There was great energy when I came before, it was lots of fun, and always nice to see so many familiar faces.
What item, trend, or product are you most excited about this Fall?
I have the best leggings! They are buttery soft, you really have to feel them to understand how soft they are. They come in one size, and also tall and curvy.
