YWCA Northwestern Illinois Welcomes Three New Board of Directors

 

Rockford, IL—YWCA Northwestern Illinois has welcomed three new members to the Board of Directors: Rebecca Francis, Robin Scott and Pam Solverson. Each will serve a three year term for up to three terms.

 

About Rebecca—Rebecca Francis is the Diversity Compliance Coordinator at William Charles. Prior to her current position, she was the Operations Manager for Jackson Charter School. Francis recently published Out of Order?: How a Decade of Detours Led Me to my Assigned Path available on Amazon. She is actively involved in her church where she is a ministry leader and runs a woman’s program. Rebecca is eager to become more involved with the YWCA saying, “The YWCA not only supports women but stands with minorities against the very thing dividing our nation, racism.”

About Robin—Robin Scott is a Senior Vice President in Treasury Management with Illinois Bank & Trust where she has worked for more than a decade. She is involved with Women of Today’s Manufacturing, Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Stroll on State. Robin actively serves the community in a number of capacities and says, “I look forward to serving my community further with an organization (YWCA) that shares the same passion for women and racial equality as I do.”

About Pam—Pam Solverson, RN, is the Nurse Manager of Patient Care at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. She is a blood donor and has been involved in community health events including Silver Chalice and American Heart Association walks. Her goal is to impact change where appropriate while supporting and promoting services offered by the YWCA. Pam states, “My involvement with the YWCA will provide me with a greater insight of the services the YWCA provides to support the members of our community.”

YWCA Northwestern Illinois has provided women’s empowerment programming and advocacies since 1891. The organization now serves more than 12,000 women, children, and families each month, through child care subsidy, quality child care access and  improvement resources, YWCA La Voz Latina’s Hispanic and Latino community support and resources, and community racial justice work that promotes a clear commitment to equality. YWCA Northwestern Illinois delivers its mission, “eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all,” to women and families in the six-county area of Boone, Jo Daviess, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago, Illinois.
