Celebrating Week of the Young Child:
A Time to Lift Up Our Littlest Learners
Each year, communities across the country come together to celebrate something incredibly important—our young children. The Week of the Young Child, led by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate early learning and recognize the important role young children, their families, educators, and communities all play. This year feels especially special as it marks 100 years of NAEYC and the 55th anniversary of Week of the Young Child.
This week is all about recognizing the critical role that early childhood experiences play in shaping lifelong learning, development, and success. It’s also a chance to appreciate the families, educators, and community partners who support children every day and leave a lasting impact.
At its heart, Week of the Young Child is a celebration. It highlights the joy, curiosity, and creativity that children bring into the world, while also reminding us of our shared responsibility to nurture and support them.
Join YWCA and other local sponsors as we come together to celebrate young children, families, and our community.
