Since 1891, YWCA Northwestern Illinois has upheld an unwavering dedication to the mission of promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We continuously adjust to the emerging needs of the counties we serve: Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago. In 2010, we were the recipient of the Rockford Register Star’s Excelsior Award; in 2013, we were honored for excellence in racial justice programming by YWCA USA, and in 2022 was awarded the Eagle Award for Social Justice by Rock Valley College.
