How do I find out what programs the YWCA Northwestern Illinois offers in the community?
Where is the YWCA located?
  • Our address is 4990 East State Street.  However, our building does not sit on East State Street. Enter through the Rockford University signs and head toward campus.  Our building is on the west side of the college entrance road before you get to the actual Rockford University campus.

Do you have fitness or swimming facilities at your location?
  • No.  We no longer have fitness classes or a swimming pool.
Are there fees associated with YWCA programs?
  • Most of our programs are free to clients.  There are fees associated with the Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP), learn more here.

Child Care Resource & Referral

Do you provide child care at your facility?
  • No.  We do not provide child care on-site.  However, we do offer child care referrals customized to your location and by the days and times that you need.  We also help you find finds to help you afford child care costs.  For more information call 815-484-9442.

Can I get a list of child care providers even though I am not on the CCAP program?
  • Yes.  You do not need to be on the CCAP program to receive a child care provider list.

La Voz Latina

Does La Voz Latina still exist?
  • Yes!  In 2015, La Voz Latina merged with the YWCA and began operating as a department of YWCA Northwestern Illinois.  La Voz Latina’s Executive Director, Luz Ramirez, assumed the role of Chief Administrative Officer at YWCA Northwestern Illinois.  This merger allowed La Voz programming to extend beyond the Hispanic population while offering a more holistic approach to family stability by utilizing other YWCA programs to wrap around families in a single setting.

Language Services

Are services offered in multiple languages?
  • We can serve any language through our extensive network of community partners.  The YWCA works to eliminate barriers to all programming when possible.  Some tools may include Google Voice, interpreters, translated materials, etc.
  • We can also assist employers with assessing language proficiency of employees and candidates. Please note, there are fees associated with these services.

Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP)

How much does an assessment for the Partner Abuse Intervention Program cost?
  • $75 payable in cash, check, credit card or PayPal (Prices Subject To Change)
What is the cost of the PAIP classes?*
  • $25 per class payable in cash, check, credit card or PayPal (Prices Subject to Change)
How long are the classes?
  • 26 weeks – each class session is 90 minutes
When are the classes held?
  • Monday and Tuesday nights, Tuesday Mornings.
  • Classes offered in Spanish on Wednesday evenings ONLY
  • CLASSES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Do we offer classes for females?
  • No
Does medical insurance cover classes?
  • No
Can I attend more than one class per week so I can get them done faster?
  • No, it is a 26-week program (6 months).
